Fast Food for Children Part 2
Submitted by Skye on Tue, 08/12/2008 - 18:49.
Healthy and Quick snacks for your children: Option 1: String cheese and a banana. Or any cheese and fruit will do. These items can be found in almost all gas stations, definitely in grocery stores, and if you're at a friend or family member's house they will most likely have cheese and a fruit lying around. Option 2: Meal replacement bars made for kids. We have a great raw foods all organic bar for kids that taste great. And if your child is like mine, you struggle to get them to eat their fruits and especially their vegetable requirements for the day. Our "OragniX Greens" bar will give your children the vegetables and fruits they need. I also like the "Kidz Bar" by Cliff Bar. You can find them in most grocery stores in the organic section. The main reason I like our bars and the cliff bars is because the sugar is agave nectar or brown rice syrup, which is better for the body than high fructose corn syrup or any processed refined sugars and sugar substitutes. Option 3: Homemade trail mix. I make my own trail mix for my 2 year old using foods he already likes to eat. My mix includes: Kashi Heart to Heart Toasted Oats Cereal (sometimes I use Cheerios), raisins, cashews, pecans, cranberries, and every now and then I add some M&M's.
