That voice within will bring clarity, peace, and meaning........ if you listen.

I receive a phone call from a friend who shared with me what he went through over the last few years as he experienced a spiritual disconnection. Throughout our discussion he continued to reference the pain he endured. If you’ve been one of the few fortunate enough to gain this awareness in your life, you’d know that pain he’s talking about. Have you ever been in a job, a relationship, or environment where you can’t really explain why but something didn’t feel right? Some people know that feeling very well. Sometimes making a change appears to be easy even though it may not be comfortable. But most sit ridden with fear and in this space of complacency which is also extremely uncomfortable. What I know is the events we choose to participate in life either feeds life energy to the spirit and soul or depletes it. If we continue to deplete this energy the spirit will experience a slow death. This was the pain he was experiencing. Secondly, I know we all have that intuitive voice within, this is what I call my “knowing”. When you stray from your soul’s destiny (which we all have, whether you know yours or not) your “knowing” had a way of speaking to you. At some point you probably decided to ignore it. That voice is what will bring clarity, peace, and meaning into your life if you learn to listen to it. For my friend it took being severely uncomfortable to learn it was time for him to listen. He ended up leaving the country, completely removing himself from his current environment. When he did the silence gave him the opportunity to “tune in”. What I believe he realized when he returned was that pain he had been experiencing was his spirit holding on for life. This pain was most intense when he was at his job. Even though he was able to hold out for a few days upon returning he realized he had to let it go. What he then experienced was a new place in his life that now was free to honor himself and hearts desire. His whole life he has been drawn to spirituality, metaphysical studies, energy, being of service, healing, and making a difference in lives. This is when he felt most alive. It was now clear to him to him what he was going to need to do to get himself into alignment with this calling. Not only did I find his bravery admirable but I also saw what was a part of myself in his story. There comes a time when you just KNOW something and when you let go and trust in your knowing there is this unexplainable life force that begins to move through you and if you allow it to, it will conquer all fears. I remember going through an experience similar to his and what I learned was that same pain I experienced was my biggest blessing. That pain was what provided me the opportunity to find that path that over the years is leading me to fulfilling my destiny. Looking back at that time in my life I didn’t know exactly where I was heading but I did have an undeniable KNOWING that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I could hear that in his voice and the words he spoke describing his experience. Today, not only did he (Justin is his name) give me the opportunity to revisit a part of me, but also to share in his experience with you. One of the greatest teachers, Dr. Wayne Dyer, says to be “inspired” is to be “in spirit” this is when were connected to our highest form of self. I share this story today with the hope you will be inspired to listening to your own knowing and the courage to do whatever it takes to fulfill your destiny. As I have said before, and I’ll leave you with this thought, “There is not a soul in this world that benefits from you playing small. We all came into this world with a purpose and destiny. It’s only fear and doubt that you allow to cloud the vision to your greatest dreams and aspirations. At the end of the day, it all comes down to HOW YOU CHOOSE TO LIVE.”
