Stretch Therapy now offered at Luna Fitness!!!
Luna Fitness of Tempe will be the FIRST health club in the world to offer Fascial Stretch Therapy in a Group Fitness class setting! Ann Frederick, owner of Stretch To Win, will be hosting a certification at Luna Fitness of Tempe on Saturday May 1st. Many of the Luna Fitness staff will be taking the certification, including several of our Personal Trainers, Yoga Instructors, Massage Therapists, and Group Fitness Instructors. Ann's technique is very restorative, relaxing and therapeutic. Fascial Stretch Therapy sessions help increase circulation, hydrate the joints, improve flexibility, better posture and exercise form, along with reducing injury and pain. The results are amazing for most people and INSTANTLY felt!
For all you ladies who were too scared to try Yoga or just didn't feel flexible enough to start, here is the perfect class for you! We will offer several time slots on our May Group Fitness schedule for our members to try it out. All you'll need is a mat, which we can provide! Women of all ages will be able to have the opportunity to have one of our therapist assist them in staying consistent with their flexibility training. For women who take Yoga and would like to improve their Range of Motion and do more advanced forms of Yoga, Fascial Stretch Therapy is unlike any other technique in the way it loosens joint capsules and connective tissues. Our bodies hold more tension than we realize some times. Take this opportunity to be more in tune with your body and the areas you need to focus on daily to gain optimal flexibility and health.
I personally offer private Fascial Stretch Therapy sessions for those who need more assistance than what the class setting offers. It is more individually focused and 60-90 minutes of body work versus the short 30 minute class. Here's my recommendation for most women to gain Optimal Flexibility until her goal is attained....In my opinion, the client would do 1 private session about every 7-10 days, followed up by one 30-60 minute class (Yoga or Stretch Therapy) per week, one 10-15 minute session of foam rolling or other self myofascia release techniques per week, and 2-3 daily stretches to the tightest muscles for about 5 minutes everyday. 96 ozs of clean water daily for hydration is a MUST for your flexibility! Your joints, muscles, and connective tissues NEED water. Women must also realize that their back pain or hip pain that has been nagging them for years isn't going to change over night. It will be a commitment to oneself for consistency that will help gain the best result.
