If you want to catch the right mental attitude, go where that attitude exists. Start by going to the people who have the right mental attitude. If the right people aren't always available, then go the right book, or to the right recording of a dynamic speaker. - Zig Ziglar

Should you find yourself in a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is likely to be more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.

ness tip of the week: Rid your self of unneccessary temptations. Take the candy bowl off the desk at work, don't bring home the bag of chips from the store, when going out with friends choose locations that have healthy choices. Make it easier, not harder on yourself.

Aminda's Musings

So why is it we seem to punish ourselves? So often I hear my clients say - I was doing so well until...and then I find out "until" was eating a pint of ice cream at 11 o'clock at night, or scarfing down a bag of chips during an episode of Lost...And it got me thinking (hey it happens) Why was the bag of chips within reach? Who put that pint of icecream in the freezer?
Why do we tempt ourselves? I don't know about you but I only have so much will power at my disposal and just getting through work without snapping is about all some of us have--- true isn't it? So why do we put ourselves in these tough positions? It's all about our surroundings.
You've heard "be the change you want to see in the world"? right? What about "seeing the change" first? If you haven't already heard of "the secret" or the "law of attraction" or the Power of Positive thought, I invite you to do some research (or email me and we will chat) If you HAVE heard all about it I pose this question to you --- Which comes first the ideal or the reality? It's a trick question, they coexist! If you are seeking health then you have to live in a HEALTHY environment. If you want to be calmer then you need to surround yourself with CALMING things.
The place we live, the environment and the people in our lives play a huge role in achieving our goals.
Yes if we were enlightened and perfect it wouldn't matter - we would never be drawn off by temptation, but give yourself a break---surround yourself with people, food, music, books, words, pictures, sights and sounds that SUPPORT where you are going and I guarantee it will be easier to get that...you will already BE there.
PS I didn't say that this was going to be easy - change is tough...be gentle, loving, kind and persistent!! It'll happen
