Dieting can be a challenge for many people, however, there are some things you can do to lose and control weight naturally and easily. Healthy living is a lifestyle! One of the simplest things you can do to lose weight is chew your food. Yup, it's just that simple! By chewing your food you are actually beginning digestion in your mouth so your body can absorb the nutrients. Carbohydrate metabolism begins in the mouth by mixing the enzymes found in saliva with the food in your mouth. Also proteins are broken down mechanically as we chew. So, chewing your foods thoroughly allows the bowels to absorb much needed nutrients. And let's face it, unless you are in my office getting an IV full of restorative vitamins and minerals regularly, you depend on your digestion to get your nutrients. Without nutrients in the body - you will feel hungry!

Bowel health is one of the most important ways to lose weight and stay healthy. When we eat, our enzymes break down the food into usable nutrients. Sometimes when we eat poorly or eat foods that aren't good for us, then the bowel becomes sluggish and occasionally constipation becomes a problem. There are cleansing and detoxifying supplements that can be taken to remove the sludge from our gut walls. Colon hydrotherapy may also be a consideration as it removes impacted matter from the colon walls allowing for proper absorption of vitamins and minerals. The terminal ileum, one of the last parts of our colon, is the place for the most B12 absorption. With a sluggish or impacted bowel, there is limited B12 absorption so injections of B12 can be helpful.

By just chewing our food well, we can get the nutrition from our meals so that we don't crave unhealthy foods or over eat. This is a lifestyle change that is free and easy to add to your healthy 2010!
