Now I see it differently - Shifting Perspective
Helen Keller:
I have often thought it would be a blessing if each human being were stricken blind and deaf for a few days during their early adult life. Darkness would make them more appreciative of sight; silence would teach them the joys of sound.
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. Marcel Proust
Asana of the week --- Halasana - Plow Pose
Fitness Tip of the Week --- Interval Training....I can't say enough about the joys of interval training. Short bursts of cardio pumping work during strength training...burns MORE Calories, better improves cardio health, shortens workout time and it's way more fun.

Here comes the rain again...and boy was I letting it get to me. Each dark dreary day that "dawned" I whined and moaned about the dark and cold. I felt nearly incapable of getting anything done, I bad-mouthed rainy days and I was basically a grouch about the whole thing...and then bam I had my perspective switched. Nothing radical or earthshattering ... I was just simply presented an opportunity to see the rain differently. While teaching a yoga class the rain raged on outside and as we got to Savasana - final resting posture --- the music paused and the sound of the rain filled the room. I turned the music off and for a few brief moments we simply breathed and listened and it was amazing. When I stepped out into the downpour after class I smiled at the rain and no longer did it seem dreary or bothersome...it was soothing and powerful and nurturing. Of course the storm hadn't changed a bit --- neither I had really ---- simply how I perceived the weather. I was reminded how often we can see the good in things if we choose, how shifting our perspective can lighten our load, lift the corner of our mouths and help us see life in all its splendour rather than all it's challenges. Maybe this week you can see about shifting something? Is there a person or situation that you could pull back from and get a new perspective? Shift and go at a new speed and the whole world looks different.
