Many people know about the infrared body wrap for slimming down a couple of dress sizes, but not everyone knows about the infrared body wrap for pain management. Oftentimes our muscles becomes sore and tired and contract to try to ease discomfort. This tightness results in chronic aching and sometimes numbness or a burning sensation. One usual position is the rhomboids - the muscles between your shoulder blades. When I am doing acupuncture for back pain and soreness in this area, I use an infrared lamp, called diathermy. This is similar to the body wrap except I target a specific area. With the body wrap, you are getting a much larger area treated and detoxifying the body at the same time.

So, if you spend too much time at your desk or at your computer, or have overworked your back, consider getting a few sessions on the infrared body wrap. The application of concentrated heat will relax the muscles, open the blood vessels and stimulate healing. If you have any other questions on the infrared body wrap, diathermy or acupuncture, please schedule your consult at the front desk.
