Regular Exercise Improves Minds of Elderly Women with Dementia

A new study from Busan, Korea found that elderly women with dementia who exercise two to three times a week for six months to a year improve their mental faculties and daily functioning by 20%. When that time period was extended to a year, their scores improved by 30%. The control group--the women who did not exercise regularly--saw no improvement whatsoever.

Coffee Drinkers Live Longer?!

Turns out two or three cups of coffee a day actually decreases the risk of dying from heart disease and stroke, together the two leading killers of women. Not only that, but four, five, or even six cups a day decreases that risk even further.

What the...? Here I was thinking coffee just raises your blood pressure, makes you jittery, and dehydrates you.

Undergoing in vitro fertilization? Easy on the coffee.

A new study found that drinking four or more cups of coffee a day decreases fertility by 25% for those women who are already having a tough go of getting pregnant. The study followed 9,000 women undergoing IVF, so you can safely bet that this news is reliable.

In addition, drinking alcohol three times a week also decreases fertility. Cigarettes and obesity are even worse for getting pregnant.

In the U.K., The Pill Goes Virtual

Those readers who live in the U.K. can now get the birth control pill online. All you have to do is answer a few questions honestly, and make sure the name you provide matches up with the name on the credit or debit card you use to purchase the pill.

Strength Training Reduces Symptoms of Fibromyalgia

A new study published in the International Journal of Sports Medicine reports that post-menopausal women who have fibromyalgia may benefit from strength training, especially in the lower body.

Got Water? How Much?

It boggles the mind that there are so many overpaid researchers out there who are sweating buckets in the lab to prove that water is somehow optional, or not as great as everyone makes it out to be. The fact is that the benefits of water cannot be overstated, especially in a time when 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

You may not feel dehydrated, but that is probably because you have been mildly dehydrated all your life. We live in a land that flows with caffeinated beverages and high-fructose corn syrup, all sold under the false promise of refreshing and hydrating you.
