HEALTHY IN A HURRY............NO COOK SUPPERS!

Ladies,

There is no reason you can't eat healthy even on the busiest schedule!

Here are a couple of suggestions that are tasty and very quick!

TURKEY WRAPS:
Use whole wheat tortillas as your wrap and add low-sodium deli turkey.
For the veggies/spread- mix together corn kernels, chopped fresh tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, chopped lettuce or sprouts and a little oil and red/wine vinegar.
You can always make this wrap a little different by changing the veggies/spread.....next time try a little hummus instead.

An interesting concept to consider when it comes to weight loss is the first Law of Thermodynamics in physics which says that energy can neither be created nor destroyed; it can only change form. Think of your body as a machine- maybe a vintage, high performance sports car. Of course, for this “car” to run you must put fuel, or energy, into it. The fuel source for our bodies is the food we eat. Each day, our bodies need only a certain number of calories in order to run efficiently throughout the day for all our physical activities.

The portion you eat or drink may be larger than you think, especially compared to the amount recommended for a whole day. Portion control is understanding how much a serving size is and how many calories a serving contains.

Bone Health for Women

For women, bone health begins at a young age. A woman acquires about 85 to 90 percent of her bone mass during childhood and adolescence. By age 18, her bones are completely done forming. If there is not enough calcium deposited in her bones during childhood, they may become weak later in life, leading to bone disease such as osteoporosis. Fragile bones easily fracture or break, especially in the hip, spine and wrist.
